JULY 4 CELEBRATION 2023


Join the City of Nassau Bay as we celebrate Independence Day with fun-filled activities throughout the day!

A parade honoring Nassau Bay’s veterans will begin at 6PM. You do not need to register to participate in the parade just please meet in the Gloria Dei Church parking lot to line up at 5:15 pm. There will be awards for “Lil Firecracker” (kids only) “Most Patriotic”, “Oldest Veteran”, “Wagons and Wheels” (bikes and wagons) and Grand Champion. If you are a veteran and would like to be in the parade please RSVP for your spot by emailing nassaubaytx@gmail.com or call Erin Boyd at 832-549-6525.

Finally, at 9PM the celebration will end with a bang as we watch an incredible fireworks show over the lake! We look forward to celebrating with our community once again!

Star Spangled Water Wars - Noon to 2:00pm

Get your water guns and water hoses ready to soak your neighbors in Water Wars, our city-wide water fight from 12:00 pm – 2:00 pm. This is a fun family event that you can join on foot, on bicycles, wagons or golf carts but NO CARS or TRUCKS for the safety of our participants.

If you plan to participate please display a stars and stripes bandana on your person, wagon or cart. Participant bandanas may be picked up on July 3rd and July 4th from 9:00 am to 10:00 am at 1503 Davon. Visit our website (list to be updated soon) for addresses for this years Water Wars Watering Stations where you can stop and refill as needed. Please remember that NO WATER BALLOONS are allowed for this event.

Celebration at David Braun Park - 6:00pm

Starting at 5:00 pm, join us at David Braun Park (18900 Upper Bay Rd) for food vendors, live music and a pie contest. School of Rock will once again be back to entertain us all.

Pie Contest Sign-Up: 

Get those recipes ready for the Annual 4th of July Pie Contest! Please have your entry to David Braun Park tent (near the pavilion) between 5:00 pm and 5:30 pm on the 4th. Remember the parade starts at 6:00 pm so plan accordingly. Judging will begin at the completion of the parade in the park. Don’t forget to label your dishes if you want them returned. Awards will be given for the following categories Best Presentation, Best Taste, Best Apple Pie, and Grand Champion.

Fourth of July Parade - 6:00pm

It's time to get ready for this year's July 4th parade! Decorate your parade float, golf cart, bicycle, outfits and join the parade - no need to register, just line up at 5:00pm at the Gloria Dei Lutheran Church parking lot. There will be awards for “Lil Firecracker” (kids only) “Most Patriotic”, “Red, White & Blue”, “Wagons and Wheels” (bikes and wagons) and Grand Champion.

We would also like to invite all resident Nassau Bay veterans to ride in our annual July 4th parade. If you are a veteran and would like to be in the parade, please RSVP for your spot in the parade by Wednesday, June 23rd by emailing n douglasdabel@mac.com, 713-208-1759. The parade line-up will begin at 5:15pm in the Gloria Dei Lutheran Church parking lot on Sunday, July 4th.

Parade Lineup @ 5:00pm: Lineup begins in the Gloria Dei Lutheran Church parking lot (18220 Upper Bay Road). No need to register, just check-in with event volunteers on-site.

Parade Starts @ 6:00pm: Parade begins at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church and goes down San Sebastian to Point Lookout to Kingstree to Martinique to David Braun Park at Lake Nassau.

Fireworks - 9:00pm

End the day with a bang and watch our spectacular fireworks show as it’s launched from the Nassau Bay Peninsula. Fireworks display begins at 9:00pm.

One of the best places to watch the display is from the Boardwalk along Upper Bay Road - arrive early to secure a good spot for you and your family
