Nassau Bay Economic Development Corporation

On April 22, 1998 the City filed Articles of Incorporation for a new Economic Development Corporation.

  • The Corporation is a non-profit corporation specifically governed by Section 4B of the Texas Development Corporation Act of 1979. Its purpose is to encourage the retention of business enterprises within the City of Nassau Bay.
  • The Corporation promotes and develops new and expanded business enterprises in the City in order to promote and encourage the economic growth of the City and the full employment, welfare, and prosperity of its citizens.
  • The Corporation has seven Directors appointed by the City Council for two-year terms of office. No person is appointed more than four consecutive times. A director may be removed by the City Council at any time without cause. Each director must be a resident of the City of Nassau Bay.
  • The Mayor and the persons holding City Council Positions Three, Four, and Five are four of the directors. The remaining three directors are persons who are not employees, agents, paid or non-paid appointed officers, or members of the City Council or any City committee, board, or commission.
