Our
Goal!
The Nassau Bay Swim Team - the Nauticats - seeks to provide a high quality
swim program for our youth. We have programs for youth ranging from
8 and under to age 18. We want our swimmers to improve their aquatic
skills, learn the principles of teamwork and good sportsmanship, and
to develop an interest in competitive swimming.
How Long is the Season?
Our program starts with registration in March. Practice begins
in earnest in early May with daily after school weekday sessions.
When
school ends practices are held each weekday morning. The competitive
swim meet season starts later in May and finishes with the Champ meet
is early July. Most meets are on Saturday
morning.
Want
to Volunteer?
We have a continuing need for volunteers
to support the swim team. At least 60 parents participate in every
home meet and 30 in each away meet. Volunteer positions include all
aspects of swim meet support, ranging from scoring and ribbon writing
to being stroke and turn judges and referees. Training is provided.
