Nassau Bay Volunteer Fire Department
NBVFD is a chartered corporation
of the State of Texas and operates under the provisions of our Constitution
and By-laws.
The NBVF operates under a contract with the City of Nassau Bay to provide
fire prevention, suppression, and medical emergency care to the citizens. Y0u can visit their site at www.nassaubayfd.org. (The NBVFD site is not viewable in Mozilla Firefox or Netscape. You will need to access it using Internet Explorer.)

Mutual aid agreements with nearby fire departments and medical services
allow us to call for additional assistance and to help to our neighboring
cities when extraordinary situations arise.

The Department consists of all volunteers; there are no paid personnel.

The Department’s supervisory staff is divided
into two groups: Line Officers and Administrative Officers. The Line
Officers include
the Chief, Assistant Chiefs, Captains, and Lieutenants.

The Administrative Officers consist of the President, Vice-president,
Secretary, Treasurer and Fire Prevention Officer.
Activities
Regular Department activities are held on Tuesdays from 7:00 p.m. to
9:00 p.m. at the fire station.
- Anyone interested in more information is encouraged to stop by
the fire station on any Tuesday evening.
- The first Tuesday of the month is devoted to a general business
meeting and all members and prospective members are encouraged to
attend.
- Training drills for firefighter members are held on the 2nd and 4th Tuesdays of the month and are required attendance
for active firefighter members.
- Training drills for medical members are held on the 3rd and 4th Tuesday of the month and are required attendance
for active medical members.
- Maintenance drills to repair and clean up equipment are held
on the 5th Tuesdays, if applicable.
NBVFD OFFICERS
FOR 2007-2008
The Nassau Bay Volunteer Fire Department held officer elections at
their May business meeting. Congratulations to all who were elected
and re-elected. The new officers have an exciting year ahead as they
lead the department thru a new recruiting drive and continue serving
the community.
