Community Education on Redevelopment

Dear Residents of Nassau Bay,

It is an exciting and unique time in the City of Nassau Bay. Our new redevelopment plans provide the opportunity to refine our community’s form and function for the first time in several decades. This change will generate a solid tax base to support our city for current residents and future generations. As your City Council, we are committed to bringing about a synergistic change that will also maintain our sense of community, enduring values and beautiful aesthetics.

With the help of dedicated citizens’ committees and the Economic Development Corporation, we have developed a plan that our community can embrace and, when complete, will become a standard for other communities to use when redeveloping their cities.

We want you to know Nassau Bay city leadership is committed to:

  • Revitalizing our commercial tax base and relieving homeowners of their current disproportionate tax burden.
  • Providing accurate and timely information about all city decisions.
  • Creating a synergistic relationship between the city and developers for the benefit of our residents.
  • Protecting the investment our residents have made to their community.
  • Making these changes without the use of homeowners’ tax dollars.

We ask that you use this document as a tool to become better informed about the changes taking place in our community.

As we move through the development process, we encourage you to learn more about the project through the City News, www.nassaubay.com and NBTV Channel 16. We also invite you to attend our city council and planning commission meetings to hear first-hand the information we use to make our decisions. If you have any questions, please call City Hall at (281) 333-4211.

Sincerely,

Nassau Bay City Council
