Full-Time Employee Benefits

The following benefits are for full-time employees only.

Health Insurance Plan

The City pays for 95% of the following health insurance plan for the employee and 70% for eligible dependents. The plan includes:

  • Medical and dental 
  • Voluntary vision - Participation is optional and paid for by the employee

Section 125 Cafeteria Plan / Flexible Spending participation is optional and paid for by the employee for:

  • Dependent insurance premiums 
  • Unreimbursed healthcare reimbursement 
  • Dependent care reimbursement

Supplemental Insurance Plan

The following benefits are provided by the City:

  • Accidental death and dismemberment
  • Group life insurance 
  • Long-term disability

Additional Benefits

  • Optional life insurance - Participation is voluntary and paid for by the employee
  • Dependent life insurance - Participation is voluntary and paid for by the employee
  • Paid vacation
  • Paid sick time
  • Paid holidays
    • New Year’s Day, Presidents Day, Memorial Day, Fourth of July, Labor Day, Veterans Day, Thanksgiving Day, the day after Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, and Christmas Day, Day before or Day after Christmas (as approved by the City Manager) 
  • Two floating holidays
  • 457 deferred compensation plan - Participation is voluntary and paid for by the employee
  • Member of Texas Municipal Retirement System (TMRS) - The contribution rate is 7% and the City matches the employee's contribution two to one
  • Direct deposit
  • Longevity pay - $5 per month of service with City, this is payable in December of every year
  • Certification pay - This is for specific certificates and/or licenses which may or may not be applicable to any given position
