The City of Nassau Bay is excited to announce the MyGov Public Portal permitting portal is live! MyGov's intuitive Collaborator Portal allows you to participate directly with the City and is equipped with a Dashboard that automatically updates in real-time, allowing you to stay update-to-date on all projects

A permit is required for any construction, change in use or occupancy, alteration, and/or repair of any structure, roofing, exterior doors or windows, building, or building system including plumbing, electrical, mechanical, and irrigation systems. All contractors performing work within the City of Nassau Bay must be registered with the City and provide proof of general Liability insurance.... Permit Submittal

Online permit submission is now required for all permit types. The City of Nassau Bay use MyGov.us for its online permitting process. Through MyGov you can register as a contractor which will allow you to submit permit applications, upload plans for review, follow review comments, print your permit after approval, schedule inspections, view inspection results and pay all applicable fees.

Plan Review 

Depending on the type of project and the completeness of your application, plans and adherence to codes, the permit may be processes within 3-5 business days, however for more complex plans needing review (e.g. zoning, building setback requirements, etc.), additional review will be required which takes approximately 10-15 business days if all information is accurately submitted.

Please ensure that the email address entered at the time of registration, is the email you want to be notified during the review process. Email notifications will be automatically sent out as the plans proceed through the review process. You must select the appropriate Permit Type applying for. All documents submitted must be in PDF format.

  • Inspection Request - To request a building inspection for work completed with an issued permit, please submit a request before 4:00pm the day before the requested inspection day. 
  • Submit a request through the MyGov Public Portal 
  • Email Building Department  In the email, please provide the Permit ID#, the type of inspection you are requesting, and your contact information.

Building Permits

Work requiring permits cannot start until the permit is issued by the Building Department. Permit applications must be reviewed and approved by department staff and all fees are calculated at that time.  Should any construction or installation of equipment begin without obtaining a permit, permit fees will be doubled.
