An Incomparable Community

At the front gate of NASA's Johnson Space Center, the City of Nassau Bay, Texas, is a waterfront community, with easy access to the freeway, and has a culture based on technology and innovation. The opportunities afforded companies make Nassau Bay one of the most attractive sites in the Houston area for living and supporting technology firms.

So when you think about it, we're on the water, just 40 minutes from the Gulf of Mexico, 30 minutes from downtown Houston, and across the street from outer space!

Technology

Ours is a community familiar with technology:

  • Well over 200 businesses and agencies, with corporations like IBM, GB Tech, Lockheed Martin, Boeing, and Science Applications International Corp., among others, have found Nassau Bay an ideal home, with pools of resources and expertise found nowhere else.
  • Nassau Bay is connected with a fiber network, offering unlimited bandwidth. Everything from Space Park Drive to NASA Parkway reminds you that Nassau Bay means cutting-edge research and inspired invention.
  • Many famed astronauts have lived or continue living right here in Nassau Bay.
  • As the gateway to Johnson Space Center, the heart of the U.S. space program and the International Space Station, Nassau Bay is home to aerospace administrators, engineers, and support personnel.

If it's forward thinking and future oriented, it's here in Nassau Bay.

Transportation

With three airports within an hour's drive, Nassau Bay is accessible from anywhere in the world. Daily direct flights from Europe, Asia, Latin America, and Canada into George Bush Intercontinental Airport, Houston Hobby Airport, and Ellington Field make Nassau Bay as close as ever. So, when you’re planning, think Nassau Bay!

A key element in Nassau Bay's accessibility is the completion of the NASA Parkway Bypass. This construction converted NASA Parkway from a rural highway to a modern freeway with four lanes, no traffic lights, no feeders, and a narrow right of way (45m = 147 ft).

The 2.7 mile NASA Parkway Bypass exits Nassau Bay via an overpass over Egret Bay. From there the highway heads southwest and enters I-45 just south of Magnolia Avenue. The result is a speedier access to I-45 and all points north and south. It also provides visitors a quick entrance into Space Center Houston, Johnson Space Center, and Nassau Bay retail locations from I-45.
