(December 11, 2019, 11:40 a.m.) – Updated photo of wanted suspect Tavores Henderson. There's currently a $20,000 reward for tips leading to the arrest of this individual. Please call Harris County Crime Stoppers at 713-274-9100.

(December 11, 2019, 10:35 a.m.) – Mayor Mark Denman of Nassau Bay offers sincere condolences to Sergeant Sullivan’s family and friends, the Nassau Bay Police Department, and the Community. Service information is still pending but we will place flowers in front of the flag poles at City Hall if citizens wish to pay their respects.

(December 11, 2019, 9:00 a.m.) – At this point we have identified the suspect as Tavores Dewayne Henderson. Harris County SWAT Team made entry into the home where Tavores Dewayne Henderson (DOB: 10-28-1998) was suspected to be but was not located. Our Nassau Bay call center for questions not related to the investigation is now in service. The phone numbers for that line is 281-841-4420 and 281-979-2271. The main focus right now is taking care of Sergeant Sullivan's family and emergency response personnel. We ask that media and the general public respect the privacy of Sergeant Sullivan's family.

(December 11, 2019, 6:43 a.m.) – HSCO investigators and members of the Harris County Sheriffs Office Gulf Coast Task Force are still searching for the suspect involved in last night’s incident. The perimeter around San Sebastian has been lifted. Anyone with information is asked to call 713-274-9100 or crime stoppers.

(December 11, 2019, 12:40 a.m.) – The next scheduled media briefing will be held tomorrow morning (12/12/19) at 9:00 a.m. in the rear parking lot of the Donald C. Matter Municipal Building at 1800 Space Park Drive, Nassau Bay, TX 77058.

Nassau Bay, TX (December 11, 2019, 12:06 a.m.) – Shortly before 8:30 p.m., Nassau Bay police officers made a traffic stop in the parking lot an apartment complex at 2002 San Sebastian Court. The driver was found to be wanted on a warrant out of Harris County for assault on a family member. During the arrest, the suspect fought with officers and was able to break free and re-enter the vehicle. The suspect then drove away, at some point striking Sgt. Kaila Sullivan with the vehicle. Sgt. Sullivan suffered injuries and EMS was called to the scene where CPR was started. She was transported by ambulance to HCA Houston Clear Lake Hospital where she passed away. The suspect vehicle was located a short distance from the original traffic stop. Webster Police Department and Harris County Sheriff Office are assisting with the investigation. Harris County Sheriff's Office will be leading the investigation.

Any questions related to the investigation will be referred to the Harris County Sheriff's Office.

Sgt. Sullivan was forty-three years and a resident of Friendswood, Texas. December 27th would have been her 16th anniversary with the City of Nassau Bay Police Department.

Accident Involving a Police Officer

Nassau Bay, TX (December 10, 2019) – At approximately 8:30 p.m. officers responded to a call near the Sapphire Apartment Complex in Nassau Bay. A Nassau Bay Police Officer was injured while investigating the incident and was transferred to a regional hospital. Officers remain on scene. Updates to follow.
