[ARCHIVED] Incident Involving Death of a Police Officer

(December 12, 2019, 2:30 p.m.) – Nassau Bay Police Chief Tim Cromie would like to announce that the suspect in the murder of Sergeant Kaila Sullivan has been captured. A short time ago, Sheriff Ed Gonzalez and US Marshal Gary Blankinship personally called Chief Cromie to notify him of the arrest.

“We would like to extend our thanks to all the law enforcement personnel involved in the tracking and arrest of the suspect. We are also grateful to the citizens in the community that have been sharing tips and leads to assist with the arrest,” said Chief Cromie. “We ask that you continue to keep Sgt. Sullivan and her family, as well as the officers and staff of the Nassau Bay Police Department, in your thoughts and prayers, and continue to respect the privacy of the family.”

Harris County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested Tavores Henderson at a home in the 4200 block of Heritage Trail in Houston, Texas.


(December 11, 2019 2:30 p.m.) – A candlelight vigil will be held for Sergeant Kaila Sullivan who was killed in the line of duty late Tuesday evening. The Nassau Bay Police Department invites the community to join them in honoring Sergeant Sullivan’s heroic legacy.

That candlelight vigil will be held Wednesday, December 11, 2019 at 6:00 p.m. The community is asked to gather in front of Nassau Bay City Hall, located at 1800 Space Park Drive, Nassau Bay, TX 77058.


(December 11, 2019, 2:16 p.m.) – Those wishing to pay their respects for fallen Sergeant Sullivan, you may place flowers at the flag poles in front of City Hall.
