[ARCHIVED] Bay Area Mayors & Public Officials to Ring the Salvation Army Bell for Donations

Press Release

Bay Area Mayors & Public Officials to Ring the Salvation Army Bell for Donations

Nassau Bay, TX (December 10, 2019) – A group of Bay Area Mayors and public officials will volunteer to ring a bell at one of Salvation Army’s iconic red kettles this Friday, December 13, 2019. These regional public officials will be stationed in front of Macy’s Baybrook (200 Baybrook Mall, Friendswood, TX 77546) from 2:00pm to 6:00pm to raise funds for families in need this holiday season.

Elected officials include Mayor Mark Denman of Nassau Bay, Mayor (and former astronaut) Mike Foreman of Friendswood, Texas State Representative Dennis Paul, Mayor Thom Kolupski of Seabrook, and Mayor Pat Hallisey of League City.

These public officials will join Mayor Denman (event organizer) over the course of the afternoon to urge their citizens to stop by and donate. The schedule of volunteering includes:

Time

Volunteers

2:00pm to 3:00pm

Mayor Denman (Nassau Bay) / Mayor Foreman (Friendswood)

3:00pm to 4:00pm

Mayor Denman / Texas State Representative Paul

4:00pm to 5:00pm

Mayor Denman / Mayor Kolupski (Seabrook)

5:00pm to 6:00pm

Officials hope their participation will encourage others to volunteer not only this Christmas season, but all year long.

“I am very appreciative and excited to have fellow elected officials join in to help in this worthy fundraising cause,” said Mayor Denman. “Most important, we want to communicate the importance of volunteering regardless what mode you choose. So many cities and charitable organizations depend on citizen volunteers. For cities, our volunteers save significant tax dollars. For charitable organizations, well, they would mostly cease to exist without the dedication of volunteers.”
