The City of Nassau Bay is in continuous communication with Frontier, a Texas Internet Service Provider, regarding the replacement of fiber internet cable at several residences throughout the city. According to City Manager Paul McLarty, the repair process has extended over a one-month timeframe after cable was damaged during ongoing construction projects.
“When fiber internet cables are damaged, it can impact internet, phone and television service for residents, and we take this very seriously,” he said. “Since early August, we have been working directly with Frontier to facilitate the installation of new cable following damage incurred during local construction projects. To date, several homes are still without cable.”
According to Frontier, several factors including supply chain issues and unknown delivery dates have impacted the ability to obtain the necessary cable. At this time, Frontier cannot give the City a definite date/timeline to complete the repairs.
Frontier has, however, put a rush on the cable order and is attempting to pull cable from other areas to expedite the necessary repairs in Nassau Bay.
While these repairs have yet to be completed, it is especially important that our residents remember to check on their neighbors.
